The LED street lamp supply chain currently has mature lighting systems in China, including epitaxial wafers, LED street lamp chips and packaging, focusing on medium and large-size LCD backlights, LED street lamp road lighting and home lighting applications.

In 2011, it is estimated that about 30% of China's LED street lamp chips are produced locally, and five years ago, almost all LED street lamp chips were imported. Within 2009, especially China has been actively promoting high-power LED street lamps for lighting, and the output of high-power and high-brightness LED street lamps has increased steadily, although the output share of high-power LED street lamps is still very small.

However, the average cost of LED street lamp chips decreases by 20% ~ 30% every year, while the brightness increases by 10 times. With the development of LED street lamp chip technology and the acceleration of mass production, the price is expected to continue to fall. In 2011, the quotation per unit lumen of LED street lamp chips is expected to be reduced by 10% ~ 20%, and all types of LED street lamps including high-power LED street lamps will be reduced in price.

The large-size backlight market that has erupted in recent years has gradually narrowed the price gap between LED street lamps and CCFL backlight units. The price of LED street lamp backlight units was three times that of CCFL in 2007 and only 1.5 times that of CCFL at the end of 2009. Therefore, LED street lamp backlight units seized a large number of traditional CCFL markets in 2010.
